Midnight Janitorial

Angella Luyk is the owner of Midnight Janitorial, a company that was started with the belief that there was a better way to do business.  Angella wanted a company that believed in its employees, and was willing to give back to the community that supported its growth.  One of the policies that Angella has is to allow her employees to volunteer up to 4 hours a month for the charity of their choice and Midnight Janitorial will reimburse them there lost wages. This program is off to a great start in that Midnight Janitorial employees have already rung bells for the Salvation Army (project bundle up) and will be going back in September to help children pick out winter coats, and in October walking for the American Diabetes Association.

MidnightJanitorial has also implemented a Green Clean chemical policy.  These chemicals are environmentally friendly in addition to being safer for the employees. 100% recycled toilet paper and hand towels are used daily.  Employees receive a minimum month long training, at each site.  Employees are also provided with Swiffer's and any other product they feel would make cleaning easier, and safer.

MidnightJanitorial promotes from within the company, offering everyone a fair chance at advancement, even if they do not have the necessary skills. The company will send them to classes, or training programs (at no charge to them) to get them up to speed. Angella states, "We want to offer everyone an opportunity to grow with us".

MidnightJanitorial is a full service cleaning company. "We can provide paper and plastic products (that we do not inflate the price on) as well as floor care.  We want to help better the small business community by offering them a fair, competitive price on cleaning and any necessary supplies.  We feel they are entitled to the same service and price the bigger companies receive".  Angella remembers what it was like to be starting out in business and paying higher prices for being small.  Although like any business she enjoys receiving the bigger contracts, she doesn't turn down the smaller ones.

MidnightJanitorial is a finalist in the Rochester Business Ethics award. This award is given to only three companies a year.
